Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us,

2024 Shoe Box Appeal

As a Church, we send several hundred shoeboxes to Blythswood Care every year.  In 2023 our Church sent 411 filled shoeboxes to them.  Our shoeboxes were collected on 23rd October..In the last thirty years the charity has distributed more than 2.5 million boxes – each one different, each one personal, each one an expression of the care and kindness shown to a stranger in need.

Filled with small practical items such as toiletries, stationery and clothing, the individually-wrapped boxes are distributed in schools, hospitals, orphanages, care homes and to households in very low income communities. Last year many shoeboxes went to people affected by the war in Ukraine.

Many thanks to the Holland Singers for the £200 raised for the Shoe Box Appeal at the recent concert at the Church concert and to the Friendship Club for the £100 raised at a recent bring and buy sale.

See Margo (pictured below) for more details of next year's shoebox appeal.  All donations welcome from February 2024.
